Pearl Cotton has to be one of the most versatile yarns we sell. It can be used for weaving many favorite household projects: table cloths, coverlets, dish towels, placemats and napkins, curtains, baby blankets, and scarves - to name a few! It's also equally at home in knitted garments and woven fabrics for clothing. Pearl Cotton is a 2-ply mercerized cotton yarn with a distinctive twist and lustrous sheen. It's easy to work with, strong and durable. It softens and has a lovely drape when woven in a twill pattern. Pearl Cotton has multiple weights and colors, so your options are endless.
3/2 Pearl Cotton is our heaviest weight equivalent to a sport-weight knitting yarn. In addition to weaving and knitting, this weight is a favorite for crochet projects!
You can buy a lot or a little. We offer Pearl Cotton in two put-ups. Halcyon's exclusive mini cones allow you to purchase many colors without buying lots of yarn. The large cones offer more significant quantities at greater savings.
Color Fastness - Pearl Cotton is generally quite color-fast; however, if you use contrasting colors always test a woven or knitted sample using the same washing method you plan to use on the finished piece. If excess dye and bleeding may be a problem, skein and wash the yarn before weaving or knitting.
Please note that Pearl Cotton and Perle Cotton are the same things: Pearl Cotton is the English spelling and is used interchangeably with "Perle Cotton", or even "Coton Perle", the French spelling.
WEIGHED ITEM: Large pearl cotton cones (approximately 1 pound) are sold at their actual weight. Yarn weight per cone will vary between 15 oz and 18 oz, therefore your final invoice may reflect this difference. The small grey dot in your shopping cart will read 18 (oz) before checkout - the maximum quantity and amount you'll be charged. Your final invoice will reflect this or a lesser quantity if the cone weighs less. Please note that if you request. Return online, you'll need to enter the amount you are returning in the same quantity of ounces as were purchased on your final invoice - we cannot accept returns for cones weighing less than what you received. Please let us know if you need assistance or an exact quote before shipping.
